Project Engineer
Downer EDI · BHP and Rio Tinto iron ore assignments
Delivered shutdown and construction scopes including the 68 t Tom Price tripper replacement, 500 t long-reach lifts for BHP at Port Hedland, crusher upgrades and washdown lines.
Shutdowns, brownfields and project controls.
I turn complex site scopes into executable work: engineering coordination, work packs, project controls and field delivery across mining, power, water and LNG.

Downer EDI · Olympic Dam SCM21 · Bechtel
Coordinated 182 work packs, reporting and site controls during one of Australia’s largest shutdowns, then led Acid Plant field engineering.
Downer EDI · NewGen Power HRSG Outage
Removed and reinstalled two 60 t HRSG tube bundles through the top of the HRSG, a first in Australia, backed by 40+ work packs, ITPs, redlines and completion records.
Downer EDI · Rio Tinto GTP Risk Management Program
Led balance-machine remediation, including the first laser-ablation paint removal at Rio Tinto WA, plus shutdown planning, estimates, project controls, variations and close-out across five assets. Rotating roster, concurrent with Newman.
Downer EDI · BHP Newman Water Treatment Plant
Delivered tanks, pump station, pipework and carbon-filter scopes at the bore-water reverse-osmosis plant, with critical tie-ins planned to protect town water supply. Rotating roster, concurrent with GTP.
Monadelphous · Woodside Pluto Train 1 Scarborough Modifications
Leads engineering support for shutdown readiness, tie-ins, work packs, schedules and digital controls for Scarborough integration.
Execution, quality, commercial and digital: the toolkit behind the five sites above.

Two practical tools for engineering delivery: an automated schedule-scenario app and a source-aware work-pack workflow. Both make inputs, results and review decisions easier to inspect.
The app Jack built a local browser application that processes schedule disruptions against a source-derived planning model. It runs Google OR-Tools CP-SAT to calculate alternatives within activity, crew, equipment and workfront constraints.
Scenario inputs A planner can select or describe a crane outage, crew change, material or access delay, night work or workfront conflict. The app applies the scenario to the linked activity network and solves the revised plan.
What it returns A searchable Gantt overlay and crew-demand view show changed activities, milestones and resource effects. Alternatives can be compared by finish date, crew peak, cost proxy or risk proxy, with the governing constraints visible.
On this page The three simplified cases below are precomputed synthetic examples of that workflow; the separate local application performs the CP-SAT solve.
Problem Scope, drawings, specifications and registers are often spread across source systems.
Jack's contribution Structured a workflow that carries source identity, revision evidence and reviewer decisions into the draft.
Output A versioned draft and manifest that show what was used, what needs review and why.
The local app applies selected disruptions and operating constraints to a source-derived schedule model, runs CP-SAT and presents proposed schedule changes for comparison. Its scenario overlay does not write changes back to P6. The three cases shown on this page are fixed synthetic illustrations, not live solver runs.
Source identity and page, section, table or row locators stay beside extracted evidence. Revision, applicability and approval-for-use are reviewed separately before a versioned draft and source manifest are prepared.
The work-pack workflow uses a local-first Python application with a browser review interface, FastAPI, SQLite and PDF, spreadsheet and Word processing. Optional local OCR supports scanned source material.
The CP-SAT app calculates schedule alternatives; AI-assisted analysis supports evidence review in the work-pack workflow. Generated assumptions remain distinct from source data, and engineers retain technical and release decisions.
